After several month* of hunting, officials have
found a home for CMU's next president.
The Board of Trustees approved Friday the
purchase of a home at 1214 Forest Lane for
$285,000.
Jerry Tubbs, vice president for Business and
Finance, said immediately following Board
approval, his assistant left the meeting to confirm
the sale with owners Philip and Allie Langloi*,
and to tell them to pick up their $35,000 down pay-
ment and sign the necessary documents.
The balance of the payment is due at closure.
May 1, Tubbs said. CMU officially takes possession
of the home at that time.
The residence is a five-bedroom, two-level brick
house with three full baths, Tubbs said. It covers
more than 5,000 square feet and is adjacent to
Viet's Woods — University-owned property.
The University and the owners signed the preliminary purchase agreement Wednesday, Tubbs
said.
One final step must be taken to finalize the sale.
Tubbs said.
The "rights of survey," a document stating subdivision specifications the property must meet,
was expected in the University attorney's office
Friday. If the attorney does not render approval of
the document, the Board will be asked to approve
