English 201 classes •

Non-English instructors interested in teaching writing courses
now have the chance to do just that.
At Academic Senate's Tuesday meeting. Paul Yu, associate dean of
the College of Arts and Sciences aaid faculty from departments other
t han English are needed to teach 50 sect ions of ENG 201: "Advanced
Composition."
Estimates show the English department can handle teaching 60
sections per year, Yu said. Rut 110 sections are needed to meet the
demand for the course, he said.
That leaves 50 sect ions of the writing course to be taught by faculty
outside of the English department, he said.
