SOLD — That was the big word for Zoltan Csendes who
had trouble keeping up with the students and area residents who purchased art items at the Student and Faculty
Art Exhibit Sunday.
The charges against Starner
were presented to Student
Senate Oct. 24 by Wallace
Tuttle, acting chief justice of
Student Judiciary. In the report Tuttle alleged that Starner "interrogated, intimidated,
threatened and generally
scared to death" a freshman
student who visited his office
to discuss a disciplinary problem.
After the charges were disclosed C. Milton Pike, dean of
students, directed SFJC to in-

Eugene F. Grove, music department chairman, represented CMU at the annual meeting of the National Association of Schools of Music
(NASM) when the music department was promoted from
associate membership to full
membership.
The promotion was approved at the meeting in Dallas,
Texas on Nov. 21. NASM is
designated by the National
Commission on Accrediting as
the responsible agency for the
accreditation of music degree
curricula.
The promotion indicates the
•association's endorsement of
Central's music department and
curricula, according to Grove.
He explained that before
receiving NASM approval, a

SFJC, in turn, appointed a
three-man committee consisting of William Franklin, associate professor of history; Ger-
rald Poor, professor of education and Dave Joslyn, Midland
senior, to investigate the
charges and report back to
SFJC, according to Pike.
SFJC members hesitated to
talk about the investigation
noting that they had made the
decision to "avoid further-publicity" until the investigation
was completed.
Tuttle refused to comment
on the progress of the committee but did say that he noped
"that the channel,of complaint
that we (students) were directed to use will be more effective than these channels
have been in the past."
After the fact-finding subcommittee presents its report,
it is up to SFJC to present a
final report to the Student
Senate, Tuttle said.
A committee member said
that it is doubtful if the final
report will be made to Student
Senate before Christmas vacation.
Student Body President Bob
Ballard said that he was "anxiously awaiting the report"
but would not indicate when
he expected it would be released.
