A pleasing program was presented
and was enjoyed by all. Monday evening exercises were held in the Congregational and M. E. churches and

always to the delight o'f tbe little
ones. Tbe entire program at the Congregational church was unique and
reflects much credit upon those wbo
bad it In charge. If we would make
special comment on anv production it
would be on tbe recitation of little 3-
year-old Hallle Kump, she having completely taken tbe entire audience. As
the branches of tbe tree act as mediums between the trunks and tbe
Invigorating air above, so children are
mediums between adults and tbe great
beyond. A happy time indeed Is
Christmas time.
Commenting upon the lecture de-
liverd by Father F, C. Kelley at
Mt. Pleasant, tbe Democrat says:
"The address was delivered in a
most charming manner, and held tbe
rapt attention of the audience from
tbe first to the last: a capital story
teller, gifted with a fine presence, in-,
spired witb a lofty patriotism, thoroly
in love with his subject, and possessing the wit and humor of bis race, he
at once gained tbe Sympathy of his
hearers "and made a lasting impression
upon them. It would be defflcuit for
us to select anv extracts from bis address; but we cannot let the occasion
pass without congratulating ourselves
an association with, sucb men as
Father Kelley. Broad mi nded, liberal,
patriotic, a typical American, ho has
a fine future before bim," 'Father
Kelley appears at Doherty opera house
Friday, January 19. 1900, and speaks-
on tbe subject, "Tbe Yankee Volunteer." .- .
