It Is quite impossible for a country
editor to depend upon his memory, be
ib ever so good, and so it is that tbe
vest pocket memorandum is indispensable. The editor changed vests the
night of the K. of, P. concert and the

Without going into detail at tbis late
date, It was the best concert we have
had the privilege of attending and
was enjoyed by a good sized audience.

An exchange gets off the following
in a request to get in tbe news. It
says: "If you know of an item, kindly
tell us about It. Every week we know
thab you know things thab we don't
know and we know thab you know we
don'b know it, and still sou don't tell
us. Now if you-tell us what you know
then we will tell you what we know;
also what you know, then our readers
will know what they know and what
we know, and also what we know tbab
you know we know, you know."
We were chagrlnea to find, 'just
after the last paper was off the press
laet Friday, that we had failed to
speak of the excellent lecture given on
the business men's lecture course by
Prof. Thos. H. Dinsmore. Never has
Clare's people had an opportunity to
listen to a lecture along the line of
science, so interesting and instructive.
Tp review tbe lecture would be doing Mr. Dinsmore an Injustice as half
of it was his vivid physical and chemical illustrations, which raised some of
tbe ladies from their seats. Had the
opera house been packed we venture
to say all wouia have been perfectly
satisfied.
