Decoration Day^ May 30,. 1894, when
the unveiling will take place with
appropriate ceremonies in connection
with tbe exercises of> the day. When
completed the monument" will be a
source of pride to the city and will reflect much credit on the cotraetors,
Messrs. Cooley & Dorsey.
David" Wood's wife living near the
Eagle school, died suddenly Saturday
morning of heart disease. She went
to bed* the evening before complaining
of a little, pain, but toward morning
was takep mucM worse and in a short
time was! dead. She was. buried Monday. Bev. M; D. Bogers conducted
the services. The deceased was forty-
two years of age and was born in _Tew
York state.
W. H. feeidan of Lake City, but
formerly: of Meredith, changed cars
here Wednesday on his way to Detroit
toattend the funeral of his brother Geo.
Kiedan who died at Pontiac Wednesday morning whither he was taken in
August |or medical treatment. The
two brothers were for some time together ijii business at Meredith, but
George sold out to Wolf and opend a
store in Gladwjin where lie carried on a
suecessf-jil businss for several- years.
Last supjimer jhe' was taken with a
disease of the jbrain from whith his
death resulted He was a successful
young business! man and had ^cumulated a good pifoperty besides carrying
a rathem heavy life insurance.
Wm. Giberson, of Olio, is going extensively into sheep raising.
