The DemocRxIT force have been engaged a part of the week;on a supreme court
record, for attorney "W.. A. Burritt, of
Harrison. The Democrat office is the
only print shop in the county that does
this class of work.
The Isabella "Enterprise gays that "A

at Clare for drunkenness. Sorely, Clare
will vote for the amendment." Guess
the Enterprise has been wrongly informed regarding the arrest, etc.

Louie was on his way home from Detroit,

goods. He is enjoying a good business

of the village trustees at the ferst election
a couple of weeks ago, receiving the
largest majority^ but one, of any on the
ticket.

Prof. Wood, principal of the Clare
schools, will deliver a lecture at the Congregational church this evening, His
subject will be "The effect of alcoholic
spirits upon the human system." He
will-have the manikin from the school
present from which he will refer and
have to assist him in his remarks. The
lecture will, undoubtedly, be very interesting.
' The Detroit Tribune, of the 17th, contained the following item: "L. T. Olds,
of Clare, has one cow which from April
oth to October 15,1886, gave an average
of 24 quarts of milk per day, which he
sold at five cents a quart, making $219.60.
From October 15 to March 1, 1887, she
averaged 15 quarts a day, which he sold
at six cents, making §122.90^ or a total for
11 months of $342.50, whieh that one cow
has brought her owner. The milk
weighed two pounds to the quart. The
cow is four years old, half Ayrshire and
half Durham, and weighs 250 pounds."

mean business. The meeting* adjourned
'to assemble again next Tuesday at the

Wednesday evening. The work is supposed to be that of an incendiary.
Luckily his new boats had not been
stored therein and were not consumed by
the flames. He has ordered several new
clinker row boats that will arrive in a
few days, which, in connection with his
others, will make him a complete phar=-
aphenelia. Material is already on the
grounds for the erection of a new boat
house.
We have to announce this week the
unexpected demise of Katharine, wife
of Mickael Dalton, of Vernon township.
She was taken ill Sunday evening . of a
severe headache and continued to grow
worse until Wednesday evening, when
she died, her death resulting- from apoplexy. The deceased was 31 years of
age. She leaves to mourn her death, a
husband and four children, all boys, the
eldest about 12 years of age. The remains were taken to Saginaw this morning for interment. Two sisters from tlie
above named place arrived Wednesday
evening and reached her bedside only a
few minutes before her death. The relatives have the sympathy of the community. .
