Bogus Canadian quarters dated 1872 are
being circulated. The coins are so well

anticipated Fourth of, July celebration.
Th^&re wisely beginning early and will
not find it any too sc>on. It gives promise of being the most successful celebration ever held in these parts. A sum
money sufficiently large to warrant thisl

and the total is being swelled every day.
Everybody from the surrounding country
and towns are invited to celebrate with
us. A big time is to be had.
Roy jLamb, a lad ef 7 or 8 summers, received a sting on-the ball of one of his
feet this morning from a honey-bee, resulting much differently from the ordinary stings and which came near proviiig
a serious happening.. His foot, limb and
body commenced to swell immediately
and he wras taken deathly sick, remaining
semi-unconscious for some time. The
stinger was removed and Dr. Lansing
summoned to attend, and the little fellow
gives evidence that he will soon be none
tne worse for his experience.
A fraud of the first water was ia town
Tuesday asking alms at the hands of our
good people. He exhibited a bad looking hand and arm and told a pitiful story
about being hurt in a boiler explosion at
Manistee, The fake is an old 'one and
readily works upon the sympathies of ihe
unsuspecting. The fact of the matter is
the fellow Is too lasy- to wo?k em& takes
to begging to sustain a livlihood. The
-arm is made to present a horrible condition, by the application of what is known
as a fly blister. He should have been
treated to a good, sound horse whipping,,
