just outside the corporation limits of the

• The Free Methodist camp meeting
which is being held in a beautiful grove
on the county farm about one mile northeast of Clare, appears to be a grand suc-
ess as far as number is oon'Cei'nec"!. Hear-
thirty tents are pitched'oh-the ground
and each one is filled- to its utmost capacity. Large numbers from the surrounding country are in attendance daily and
much interest is manifested. A large
crowd is expected on -the grounds -Sun-
day. Eey. Gt. H. Asjnew, late of Inhaui-
foane', East Africa, will' deliver a lecture
on African Missions on the camp ground
Sunday afternoon at ^.o'clock, The lecture will be illustrated by African curiosities, including piano, spears, dress, etc.

Died, at the home of her daughter Mrs.
J. W« Olds, on West' Seventh street, Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock, June 15th,
Mrs. Jane Hicks. The deceased J was bom
j December 24,1819, in the city of Purth,
Ont. She was married in 1838 to Matthew Pawson. One daughter was born
to them. Mr. Dawson died at Sombra,
Ont., ih September, 1844. She remained
a widofr; until May 11, ■ 1846, whenphe
was married to Peter Hicks. In 1S4S
they moved, to St. Clair,Mich., where
they lived until 1855, when they returned
to Canada. Mr. Hicks was ordained a
minister in the M. E. church in H3G& In
11?C4 they again returned to Michigan.
Mr. Hicks died March 14, 1881, since
which, time Mrs. Hicks has made her
home with her daughter. She was converted when 9 years of a^e, and has lHred
a-.consistent christian life up to the time
