The Farwell Register gives the following account of a fatal accident
"hear that village last week :
Our unusually quiet town was
thrown into excitement on Thursday
afternoon by tile arrival .of the afternoon express bearing the crushed and
"mangled remains of a man whom the
passenger train had run over near a
curve in the road just beyond the
gravel pit about one mile and a half
west of town. The man was discovered by the engineer just as he
rounded a curve lying between
the ties with his head on<
the right hand rail. .Just as ho ^yas
in the act of raising his head the cowcatcher struck him, knocking him
off the track and crushing his skull
'almost to atoms. He.-was picked up
by some of the train hands, placed
inside the engine and brought to the
place where he died shortly after arrival of the train.
The man whose name is John
Keilty started with three companions on Thursday morning-for Lake
Station, the party liad a large quantity of whi&key along of which ho
took an overdose and laid down on

most as drunk as himsejf leaving him
to his fate. '
It is said he is a widower having
two children in Canada, a sister at
Sagina-\v and a brother at this place
and Ludingtdn. Thus again is shown
the fearful effeets of too much alcohol.
No Mistake!
