audited accounts to the amount pf §217.14

thereon just one mile south of this village
in Vernon township, came strolLfng into ;
our office last Monday, afternoon with a'
generous supply of apples and plums
which he had gathered fi-om trees on liis=
place. The apples Avere of the Duchess
of Oldenburgh variety and were as delicious as they were heautifuh He will,
gather about 30 bushels' this year. 7 The
plums were what is called Lumbard and
the Martha Washington. They hung in
clusters of 12 and 15 on a branch and
Avere as fine in quality as any ever grown.
He raised about 11 bushels this year, and
every one of tl^em, excepting a few he
reserved for his own use, were sold be-,
fore they were ripe and ready to pick.
