sevent ladies in tho vicinity and loud

Tie baud struck up a lively tunc, when
in tiarcbed sixteen beautiful young
ladies lu pretty costumes and executed
an Uiique and pleasing military drill under command of Mr. John Giberson.
Theii* formation of lines, by twos and
foun, their inarching by right and left
flank, their wheelings and their formation of Greek, Latin and Maltese crosses
amltnany other Hue military movements,
were so perfectly done tliat tbey were
constantly greeted with storms of applause, and gives evidence ol no small
amount of patient practice. To these
young ladies and especially Mr. Giber-j
son is due 110 small amount of prul.-e.
Oiir'-JIouie Guards" of the V. K. K. P.
could gain many line point* by watching
tlicse young ladks in drill, wbo have
gained a much greater degree of proficiency in a few short weeks than thev
hy tedious months of imperfect practice.
To do justice to such au entertainment
under any circumstances is no simple
task. "We, have only given a brief outline, and would like to bave done, belter
hMl time permitted. Every one did
well, and we bave beard many merchants
speak in the highest terms of tbe way the
ladles represented their business and we
are sure tbey baye a high appreciation
of it.
The total receipts were a trllle over
§93; the expenses were in the neighborhood of .$13; leaving the net proceeds
about SSO. Thus the ladies of tbe Congregational church have added a
sum to tbe amount already iu
treasury.
