An Indian by the name of James
Henry was brutally assaulted ou last
Wednesday night, about!) o'clock, on
the Alt. I'feasant road, a short distance north of Isabwlla City, by a
drunken Erencbman named Butah,
with a knife, inflicting several terrible wounds upon the head, face, arm,
legs, and abdomen, the latter allowing the bowels to protrude considerable from tlie wound. Dr. Stoner, of
Mt. Pleasant arrived very early in
thc morning and dressed the injuries,
but the Indian died next day. Be-
lore his death be made a statement
to the effect that the Erenclimnn demanded his money, and being told
Hoard met at half-past one o'clock
p. M.
