A CREAMERY!
Possibility That One May be Located in Clare
Very Soon.
A meeting of. the citizens and taxpayers, of Olare was held at tbo city ball tbis
(Friday) evening to consider tbo question of a creamery. Tbe meeting was
called to consider a proposition made
by Jno. A. Hess, of Calkinsville, (whose
creamery was burned in tbat village a
short time ago,) to erect one in tbis city,
He asked for no donation or bonus, but
desired tbo loan of $1,000, for which he
could give airple security. Tbe meeting was attended by several prominent
farmers of tbis vicinity, and some were
there Trw patronised. -Lim-atCalkins.-
ville, and tbey expressed themselves
highly satisfied both witb the profits derived from tbe sale of tbe cream and their
business dealings witb Mr. Hess. Suoh
an industry would unquestionably be of.
great value, both to the farmers, and
business men of tbo city, and indirectly
to every citizen of Clare.
The subject was discussed from every
standpoint, and tbe meeting closed after
the appointment of tbe following committees to assist in securing the loan:
From tbe farmers:—
P. Murphy,
J. Presley,
Jos. Hudson.
Citizens of'Clare:—
Jacob Mason,
D. Borison.
Wm. Wolsky.
