The man who lives on a salary and who has to
glance back over any considerable period of time in
order to make a date at which that salary took into
itself additions is in these days caiied on to face conditions which are to the individual often little less
than tragic. Prosperous time socli as those now upon
us generally bring with them more or less heedle'ss
expenditures.
The man whose income has kept pace with the progress ofthe times is perhaps very little conserned in
this, but to the man who gets a salary instead of
wages it often means that his wife is forced to bring
to tbe problem produced by increased prices a very
high class of hous6:keepmg ability. We will help you
in your efforts to economize by .our purchases in the
wholesale markets. „ .* ' '

securing the great outdood spectacle
Pain's ."Sryptipn of Mt. Vesuvius,"
for nightly presentation, commencing August 31 and closing Saturday
n.ight, September ,7th;
It is hard to' over-estimate the
beauties and thrilling realism of
this stupendous historical production, and none, hfho has witnessed
former productions of the London-
New York fire works king will willingly miss seeing this crowning
achievement of his genius. Acres
of wonderfully realistic buildings
and temples and outdoor -.Sceneries
portray the beautiful city of Naples-
nestled ' at the foot of . frowning
Vesuvius', On-the-enormous out-
floor stage'hundreds'of gaily bedecked perfoi.r_.ers participate in the
festivities attending the visit of the
'Italian king and queen. The royal
troops and scores of acrobats, athletes, clowns, specialties and musicians contribute to the occasion's
gaieties. 'As evening comes the
mim'ip city is gorgeously lighted,
and prooes^ionp, beautiful ballets
and a festival.of lanterns occur,
The climax comes when/with a terrific rumble arid roar, Vesuvius
belchjes forth a cloud of flame, and
rivers of living fire pour down the
mountain-tain, dispersing the terrified populace and puickly reducing
to ruins the erst-*' whiler fair city.
Following <ihis never-to be-forgotten
scene, a gigantic fire-works program
is nightiy given, aiotie worth going
far to see.
