More. Railroad Accidents This
Year Than Ever Before.
The number of crossing accidents
tals year is so much greater than
ever before tbat tbe state highway
department feels that some action
should be taken by it to Improve
these very bad conditions. - - After
much study of tbe cause of crossing
accidents tbey" bave decided that
many fatalities are oansed by Inability to see an approaching train due to
dust. To remedy this, the highway
department announced last week tbat
tbeir trucks will soon start work oiling all crossings on dirt and graveled
roads. Accidents will never be totally eliminated, for tbere are people
Wbo will deliberately drive npon tbe
railroad tracks without the slighest
attempt to look for a train Snob
haphazard drivers will have accidents
