A Jackson doctor's horse ran away
last week and never stopped, 'till near

Philip Bach, one of Ann Arbor's pioneer business men, celebrated his 70th
birthday last weak.

Augustus Pierce, the young lad who
was shot by Fred Frank, at Ann Arbor,
will probably recover.
Ann Arbor G. A. S.'s have refitted
and rejuvinated their hall, making it
one of the finest in the city.
The janitor of the court house has
hifd his salary increased 550 a year.
Was it due to the McKinley 'bill?'
Wm. Briggs, an Ann Arbor contractor, has got the job of building the new
university hospital. He gets §78,000 for
it.
Zina P. King, late treasurer of the
alumni association of the university, has
been arrested ou charge of embezzlement,
Fred Reichenecker and Clara Stolls-
teimer were the jaw-breaking names of
an Ann Arbors couple that got married
last week.
The Student's Lecture association of
tho university pay Henry M. Stanley,
the great African explorer, 51,600 for
one lecture. Mr. Stanley evidently
don't talk for glory.
Mrs. W- E. Walker, of Ann Arbor,
accompanied her husband to the upper
peninsula on a deer hunt, and was rewarded by having an opportunity to
shoot a 175 pounder.
Work of removing the bodies from
Ann Arbor's old cemetery, which has
caused so'much wrangling' hasbeen begun and it is hoped the bones of departed ones so unfortunate as to be
buried there, may now rest in peace.
Mrs. Emerson Hall is, reported, to be
imyi-qidng, but her husband and his
mp'they~hav-_ been taken down with it,

was sold by auction by David Vi-.n Syclo,

As the farm contains 2S0 acres with
most excellent buildings and only Jive
miles from -jtockbridge and tiit-co from
Gregory, it shows that real estate is not
near as high in this vicinity sis it formerly was. This? would, be but S2S.57 per

A Pleasant Occasion.
A very pretty wedding took place at
the home of A. Bond Oct. 16th. Mr.
and Mrs. Bond's Only daughter, Lsila,
being* united in marriage to Mr. W.
Richards. The windows of the parlor
were tastefully banked with potted
plants, some of them being in full
bloom and lent a sweet charm to the
happy occasion. At tha time appointed the contracting parties walked into
the pleasant parlor and after the solemn words which made them one^had
been spoken by Rev. Mr. Caldwell, congratulations were showered upon the
bride and groom. The refreshments
