becoming about as interesting as Boss

Milanites must hereafter buy their

will be closed on Sunday.
Talk of a big shearing festival and
chicken show at Grass Lake the coming
spring-. This would hardly be. "birds
of a feather'' etc., would it.
Dundee's new creamery is doing a
good business right in mid-winter. This
gives Dundee both a creamery and
cheese factory. Can't Saline have one,
or 'toher, or both?
The number of empty stores at Chelsea would indicate that that townis not
maintaining its old time reputation for
business. A little more printer's ink
won't hurt you, gentlemen.
Ann Arbor aldermen will hereafter
draw a salary of S100 per year. Ditto
the Mayor, who has heretofore received j
the munificent sum of one dollar. Ann
Arbor's getting- there iu great shape.
It seems to be the impression of man;
people that the mail when sent from
an office is gathered carelessly togethei
and thrown into a mail bag,'!Vhieh is
then locked and despatched. .This is
whxnly wrong, for eyen in the smallest
offices, the letters and cards are all
gathered face upward and tied into a
neat '"package. The Government furnishes the twine to do this, aud some
idea of the immensity of the postal
service can be formed from the fact
that in one year the cost to the Government of the twine for this purpose
(which, though strong, is of the cheapest quality) was nearly seventy-two
thousand dollars^-Max Bennett, in
