ward gives the Republican candidates
an average majority of 100, and if"

The belles of Brighton several
months ago organized the I. O. B. G.,
or Independent Order of Brighton
for the purpose of eucouraging matrimony. Not satisfied with local beaux
they carried the campaign far and wide
and as a result many of Brightons prettiest have gone to faraway homes. For
a while the club gave each bride a
silver tea set, hut the number of brides
grew so rapidly that the idea had to be
abaudoned. The last party given by
the 3lub was a '*ghost ball". It is said
three weddings will follow all out of
town grooms. The local boys are -very
angry and threatened a boycott, but the
girls only laugh for the whole 'state of
Michigan is their field. Those who
desire a Brighton wife mu.->t apply soon

I pondered, perplexed, but decided
that courtesy was one of the first laws

the envelope, instantly gummed it
down.
That, I eaid inwardly, is true courtesy.

One of the most wonderful examples
of vegetable growth and fecundity is
illustrated by the Asiatic pemperion. A

total length of nearly 000 feet and ripened over 800,000 seeds.
