The starline* ot the long-and anxiously looked for creamery has now gone
down as a matter of history.
The Saline Butter and Cheese Company are now a legally organized body
and are doing business. The wheels
of the new factory were set in motiou
Monday and Tuesday morning under
the superintendency of Mr. FargerburgB
askilled butter and cheese maker, the
first income of 3,700 pounds or milk was
received and converted into butter and
cheese." The quantity of milk received
was far in excess of anything looked
for especially for the first and considering the dried up pasture and few cows
in the radius expected to furnish
milk, all of whicb tends to demonstrate
that the Saline Creamery promises to
become a rousing success. Tho small
number of chet se produced was simply
to show the working of the machinery
which was perfect. Wednesdays
weight of milk amounted to 8,800
and to day 5274 pounds were received which quantity alone will insure
a fail* working of the factory, but a
greater quantity is needed to warrant
a profit. This Is certain to come as an
Increase of cans is being put out each
day and there are many who have
promised to become patrons a little
later. It is also a fact that all new industries have to be built from the foundation in patronage as well as in structure.
The buildlog is w<4l put up, neatly
painted, conveniently arranged and
the machinery of modern improvement and very carefully placed, tlie
large well aflords them a fine water
supply and the eorapany have everything to be proud of. The separator
which is the *'New Alexander'" separ^
ated 2,800 pounds Wednesday in ode

The company of whomwas purchased
the entire outfit have bad a representative here earnestly watBhin'j the
work from the start, and ao far as
heard from all has been and is entirely
satisfactory. Tbe piano was accepted
and turned over to the directors Wednesday. The oontraot provides for the
.furnishing; of a skilled faan to operate
the concern for 00 days and Mr. Parget-berg will doubtless continue during
such time and poss.bley longer. The
stock holders are io be congratulated
on the selection of directors and officers of the new company, they are all
able men and their jndgvment is sufficient to handle with success and profit
tbe undertaking that has been placed
with tnem.
The ■:ompatiy intend to hav« tin*
the factory in opoi-ation every day nnd
will doubtless b*s glad to soft and explain to any One interested iii milk and
butter, arid to show them the working
ot the plant.
A plan will now be set in motion to
induce the farmers to put moro c.ows
on their farms ant| to have them of, a
standard quality. M"oat peoptg know,
but some; are slow to admit hut that
a cow is a cow and that one pows milk
is as good as anothers, such talk is folly
and the milk patrons must not all
expect to receive the same revenue
for an equal amount of milk, the
better cows will make higher tests and
their cream naturally more valuable.

The True Remedy.
"W. 31. Replue, editor Tiskihva. IH,
"Chief," says: "We won't kevip house
without Dr. King's New Discovery for
Consumption, Coughs and Colds. Experimented with many others, bnt never got
the true remedy until we used Dr. King's
New Discovery. No -other remedy can
take its place in our home, as in it we
have a certain and sure cure for Coughs,
Colds, "Whooping Cough, ect." It is
idle to experiment with other remedies
even if they are urged on yoii as just as
good, because this remedy has a record of
cures and besides is guaranteed. It never
