A Word About Hosiery.
Hercules School Hose.
The greatest wear resisting hose for Children.
It's the quality of yarn put into them, their elasticity,
permanency of dye, that makes mothers look for that
brand when they want stockings for their children.
20 cents per pair all sizes.
Leather Stockings for boys and girls, 25 cents.
"Matchless" Hose for Ladies wear is a beautiful silk
finished stocking. The wearing parts of the matchless
hose, the heel, sole and toe are reinforced with an extra
thread. Of course you can wear holes in rugs, you can
wear them in boiler iron too, but not quickly, not with
ordinary usage.
"Matchless", hose are much the same, you can get
through them but not in ordinary time with ordinary use.
They cost you 25e a pair. If you insist on paying 35c or
*50c, we have those also. Next time you buy hosiery try
the Matchless. We are anxious to have you, because -if,
you try them once we will always have you for a Customer.

Quick Relief From Pain.
All who Ube Chamberlain's Pain
Balm for rheumatism are delighted
with, the quick relief from pain which
it affords. When speaking of this Mr.
D. N. Sinks, of Troy, Ohio, says:
"Some time ago I had a severe attack
of rheumatism in my arm and shoulder. I tried numerous remedies but
got no relief until I was recommended
by Messrs. Geo. F. Parsons & Co.,
druggists Of this place, to try Chamberlain's Pain Balm. They recommended it so highly that 1 bought a
bottle. I was soon relieved of all pain.
I have since recommended this liniment to many of giy friends, who agree
wiVh me thai it'is 'tlie best remedy for
muscular rheumatism in the market."

BJTud In the Reservoirs.
Recently* the huge fresh water reservoirs at the Mare Island navy yard
have^undergone their biennial cleaning out, -wfiththe usual accompaniment of considerable malaria • in the
yard as a direct consequence of bringing to light a large amount- of mud
which has. slowly drifted into "these
tanks from the roofs-.and other sources
in the yard. The attempt to find water by artesian boring has been given
up as a failure and the water supply
is made up from the reservoir system
and considerable water from the VaJ-
lejo water system, ' .

The Kind You Have Always Bought
From Gay to Crave.
There is an usher at one of the down
town theaters who is a professional
pallbearer during the day. "I- get,"-he
says, "$2.50 for every palfbearing engagement, and I like the work. It is,
you see, such a complete and pleasant
change from my theatrical employment. I must wear a gala smile at
the theater at all times, and the gayety
there, the mirth and "iightheartedness,
prove very*** monotonous. I long for
something in gloomy 'black, with a
look of gloom' in my eyes, and the
sobs I hear, the groans, the lam**.^ta-

very soothing to me afte**- th.*** eternal
