SCHOOL COLUMN
The school exhibit at the county
fair won forty-five and one-half dollars
cash in prizes. Word has been received, however, from the Fair Association officials that the premiums are
heing paid at the rate of fifty cents on
the dollar, thus leaving for the school
only twenty-two dollars and twenty-
five cents.
The teachers will spend the "holiday
vacation in diyers manners and places:
Miss Manle-y at Caro, Misses Gardner
at Ypsilantij Miss Brooks, Miss Sears
»nd Mrs. Lawrence at Saline. Prof.
Tooze will attend the State Teachers'
Association at Grand Rapids.
The various rooms are beginning to
take on a Christmas hue. Evergreen
trimmings and ornamentation of other
kinds indicative of the season abound
nearly everywhere. Many artistic
drawings also add to the attractiveness of the rooms.
Mrs. Shaw visited chapel Friday
morning and Mr. Sears Wednesday
morning.
"Moll" has received a new pronunciation, one of the Junior girls has
conceived the idea of pronouncing it
"Mole."
Rev. Lawrence conducted chapel exercises Monday.
How sad a disappointment is. One
day four Sophomore girls with smiling
faces were seen to leave the High
School Room with the intention of
entering the laboratory. When they
reached there it was locked. The prevailing question then was, "Who has
the key?"
Next Friday will occur the fourth
regular monthly examination of the
school year in all departments. There
will be held no general exercises at
the close of this term, on Friday, but
the rooms will mark the event of
Christmas tide by such exercises as
are fitting to each. The First and Second Primary rooms will unite in a few
exercises and un Xmas tree entertainments.
The teachers are to be commended
upon their efforts each year to make
happy those under their charge and to
stimulate in them the true significance
of the beautiful customs of our Christmas time.
Miss Crippen is reported as slightly
improved.
Edward Wildt has entered the sixth
grade.

"I suffered for years with a bronchial
or lung trouble and tried various remedies but did not obtain permanent relief until I commenced using ©De Minute Cough Cure," writes Rev. James
Kirkraan, evangelist of Belle River,
111. "I have no hesitation in recommending it to all sufferers from maladies of this kind." One Minute
Cough Cure affords immediate relief
for coughs, colds and all kinds of
throat and lung troubles. For croup
it is unequalled. Absolutely safe.
Very pleasant to lake, never fails and
is reaily a favorite with the children.
They like it. Unterkircher's drug

The fact that "our language Is

H. C. Chrestenson of Hayfield, Minn.
"For three years I was troubled with
dyspepsia so that 1 could hold -nothing
on my stomach. Many times I" Would
be unable to retain a morsel of food.
Finally I was confined to my bed. Doctors said I coald not live. I read one
of your advertisements on Kodol Dyspepsia Cure and thought it fit my case
and commenced its use. I began to
improve from the first bottle. Now I
am cured and recommend it to all."
