W. H. Dewis, proprieter of the Neat
House, has leased the Miller properly
atthe corner of East Congress andBiver
streets, and will have it remodeled
into a hotel. This.move is being made
to meet the effect of the electric road
in causing travelers to come into the
city on its line, and also to catch "the
farm trade.—Ypsilanti Commercial.
Editor Carr, of the Dundee Reporter
has signified his willingness to accept,
through the grace of Congressman
H. C. Smith, an appointment as minister to Dahomey. Carr prefers Dahomy
because there it isn't necessary to
spend much money for clothing. No
use trylog to side-track that Carr. If
he doesn't ego lo Dahomy he will remain Consul-General at Dundee.—Te-
cumseh News.
Congressman Roberts, of Utah, is a
polygamous Mormon. . He has sev eral
wives. The federal government has
made polygamy unlawful. Roberts defies the law and is sent to congress by
the votes of law defying polygamous
Mormons to take a hand in the shaping of national legislation- Should he
be allowed to hold his seat in congress?
Not for a minute. Helis a rebel representing a rebellious constituent-
He ought to be in prison instead of

And now they are making it uncomfortably warm for Holland J. Corbett,
who, last June married Minnie Forster
of Harriaville in this state, having
previously married Jennie. Rice of Detroit, and who has now eloped with, \
and married Mrs. JFrank Young, a cook '
in the home where he was yisitin^in |
California. He has only three wives,
and yet, for this offence it is proposed
to send him lo the penitentiary, while
Brigham H. Roberts with exactly the
same number, is rewarded for his matrimonial enterprise by an election to
congress. Verily, what is one man's
meat is another man's poison.—-Ypsilanti Commercial.
For two years Mr. Lister has held the
office ofjeounty commissioner of schools
for Washtenaw county, and we have
yet to hear a single one of the many
persons interviewed express other than
the highest praise for the intelligence,
zeal and efficiency with which he mis
administered tha important trust confided to him two yearsi He has faithfully performed his every duty, aDd
the schools have rocoivp.d a new inspiration from, his work among them.
He is a oandilate for re-nomination,
and we believe the republicans of the
county will show their appreciation of
his past services by giving a unanimous
vote "for a second term, both in the convention and at the polls.—Ypsilanllao.

that our young son is.as sound and
healthy as any child. In the interest
of sufferers and our benefactors,
