Blisstield boasts of a four legged
chicken. This is no fish story.
A Fourth of July picnic is being arranged by the St. Patrick's church of
Northfield at Whitmore Lake.
Tbe class that graduated from the
Tecumseh high school last week numbered 13 young ladles and 7 young
men.
Mr. Otto Hans, eiitor of the Washtenaw Daily Times, has taken unto
himself a bride, Miss Clara Vee Snyder
of Chelsea.
Cuyler S. North, son of Dr. L. G.
North of Tecumseh, was killed at Albion recently by being struck hy a
Michigan Central train.
Register of Deeds Huston reports
that there are nearly ten thousand
papers in his office which have been
-left hy people to be recorded,
1t..:|\A family at Blissfield was recently
blessed with a child, it being the sixteenth one. These parents should be
reported to President Roosevelt.
Chelsea has on hand for future
amusement, a $5,000 law suit, caused
by a defective sidewalk. What a nuisance those defective sidewalks are.
A fourteen year old boy of Grass
Lake, stole so as to he sent to jail, giving as his reason for so doing that his
father and foster mother did not treat
him kindly and he wanted to get away
from them.
The Tecumseh Heraid in a recent
issue said, in speaking of a fire: "The
flames were subdued before any damage was done. . The loss is estimated
at $500." What does the Herald think
the word "damage" means, anyway?—
Detroit Free Press.
A large boy in the ninth grade of
the high school went to sleep in school
the other day. He had been asleep
some time when he awoke, rubbed his
eyes, and said, "Where am T." He
thought he was having a surprise
party.—Chelsea Herald.
The Manchester and Clinton high
schools were recently engaged in a debate, the subject being, "Resolved,
That the taking of the Philippines
was justifiable." It resulted in the
victory for Manchester, who took the
negative side of the question. It is
too bad there are not more Manchester.
Chelsea mas recently visited by a
man with a wooden leg, telling a pitiful story and begging for money. He
succeeded in securing some and. evidently had a good time for he got helplessly drunk and cou,ld. scarcely stand
up. It is almost a hard; matter to tell

NERT0US HEADACHE
BREEDS INSANITY.
Many a person's whole pleasure in
life is ruined by the fear of nervous
headaches. Any little excitement, no
matter what, business or social, brings
them on. The feet and hands grow
cold, the head is hot, the eyes stiff,
the temples throb^ and only in the
quiet of the darkened room is relief
obtained. This condition must be
chicked or it means complete mental
ruin. To those people Dr„ A. "W.
Chase's Nerve Pills coma as a blessing.
They do not stop, they cure the headaches. They do not blanket, they
build up. They put the nervous system in a strong, sturdy condition—a
condition that gives one resistive power and enables them to again enjoy
life's pleasures.
Mrs. I. Harrington of 128 Bell St.,
Ypsilanti, Mich., says: "I had for a
long time been subject to attacks of
nervousness aud suffered a. great deal
from nervous headaches at such times.
At night it seemed-as though I could
not rest. I saw Dr. A. W. Chase's
Nerve Pills recommended and got a
box and as a result of their use'I rested
well again—have no more of those distressing headaches and feel strong and
vigorous in every way. As a consequence I feel I Can recommend the
medicine with every confidence in the
result if faithfully used." For further
information call at Weintnann & Matthews' drug store, Saline, Mich. 50c a

whep beggars are deserving of charityJf^z
and some are refused simply 'because^
they are taken for seamps who want
money for drink, while others who are
unworthy arehalpad.
The practice which obtains in too
many villages of young fellows congregating on the street corners and
making ungenllemenly remarks about
ladies as the latter pass by is not so
popular at Grass Lake as it was up to
few days ago. pne womau who was
being made the target for such remarks stopped aud wielded her umbrella with such effeat for a few seconds that there was a boom in the
court plaster and arnica market immediately, and it has been sate for a
woman to walk on the street alone

Startling Evidence.
Fresh testimony in great quantity is
constantly coming in, declaring Dr.
King's New Discovery for • Consumption, Coughs and Colds to be unequal-
ed. A recent, expression from T. J.
McFarland, Bentorville, Va., serves-an
example. He writes: "I had Bronchitis for three years and doctored all
the time without being benefited.
Then I began taking Dr. King's New
Discovery, and a few bottles wholly
cured me." Equally effective in curing all Lung and Throat troubles, Consumption, Pneumonia- and Grip.
Guaranteed by Weinmann & Matthews Druggists. Trial bottles free,
regular sizes 50c and $1,00.
