crowd good and hard by selling elec

to buy them back. When he had
roped in a large number on the old
graft he drove off to the Lake Shore
depot to catch a train west. His train
was late, however, and the "suckers"
forme i a moh, went to the depot, held
up Mr. Fakir and made him cough up
most of the ill gotten chink."
If Governor Bliss had had the necessary backbone and the courage of his
convictions, instead of heeding the
politicians, the state would not now be
saddled with the prospect of §21,000
extra salaries for supr.eme court judges
after next January, The supreme
court bench needed three more judges
just about as much as a pig needs two
tails. But then, the people's money
is made to spend and as politicians"
"we must take care of our friends,"
and of -course, there are some "Mends"
who have a strong itching for a seat on
the supreme bench, .so the governor
supinely weakened and the hill is a
law.—Chelsea Herald. The foregoing
is too true, and the taxpayers of Michigan, are rapidly finding the causes for
high taxes. This isonly one of many
useless demands upon the people for
money and the time is not far off when
it will he a burden to live rather than
a pleasure.

The Hart, Schaffnek & Makx
Varsity Suit, which has been so*
long a favorite among young men
—fellows who want "snappy"
clothes—is as usual a popular
style this year.
It is so good a style that the
tendency is to make all the sack
suits like the Varsity model.
There's a difference, though; you
will see it at a" glance if- you will
look at tfie clothes.
Glad to show 'em to you, any
time, and plenty of other Suits
and Overcoats in Men's,! Youths',
Boys' and Children's.

NO LIFE, NO ENERGY, ON AMBITION.
These are common expressions nowadays and the finger posts that point
with unfailing accuracy to a nervous
system- robbed of its vitality by overexertion, overstrain or excess of some
kind. That anyone should allow this
condition to go on to complete mental,
physical ruin as it surely must if neglected, is a positive crime when the
cure is at hand in Dr. A. W. Chase's
Nerye Pills—a medicine designed expressly for this condition—a medicine
that cures to stay "cured by resnpply-
ing the very essential of life—Nerve
Force.
Mrs, A. M. Spangle of 12 Mixer St.,
Adrian, Mich., says: "From a personal use of Dr. A. W. Chase's Nerve Pills
for nervousness or a run down condition I can honestly recommend them
to others as an exeellent medicine.
They give to nerves strength and
steadiness and to the system at large a
feeling of general vigor, life and energy. Their action at tbe same time
free from all disturbances, yet rapid."
