E. W. Ford & Son, Saline, Mich. Have cut 16 acres of wheat. In justice to
the "Minnie Binder," I must say 1 think it the best Binder on the market,
light draft, do weight on horses necks and no side draft. It ties tight, makes a
nice bnndle and compresses and discharges the bundles easily. Grass Twine
is all right, it makes a good band, better than sisal or manila,* at more "■"*•*,$

Donovan of Detroit, will deliver the

The poor families of Hudson, ought
to be thankful, for that city had a
Thanksgiving Club that made 20 fam-
ilies;happy by providing each with a
good dinner.
Edward Werner of Ann Arbor, fell
backwards recently while skating,
striking on his bead producing concussion of the brain from which be
died a few hours after.
The following is going, t&a rounds:
"How much nicer it is. to sit in a" carriage and thin\j how much nicer it is
than tp walk, than it is to walk and

were you. They are as big a nuisance
as the man who knows it all, and yet
never held a position of trust for over
three weeks.—Dexter Leader,
j A Hudson lady had a valuable diamond ring, and as she was always looking for a man, she /eared when she visited in the country the dreaded fellow
would appear in the night and rob her.

Station. Agent Ziebr had a turkey for
Thanksgiving, after all his troubles in-
having the turkey he had fed all summer and daily watched it grow with,
fond anticipations of sv feast, stolen
right from under his watchful care.
W. A. Rqss took pity on his dinnerle"ss

Skunks are plen tiful in Hillsdale. A
^flort time ago one was removed from
a sewer, and two others were* killed in
the city. The odoriferous animals are
so plenty that when a resident of the
place, is returning home on a lata train,
he raises the car window and is en^
abled to determ.iae when »he hears
Hillsdale by the smell.—Hudson Post.
The ease- pending in the circuit
court between Mrs. Mina Henderson
and Andrew'Rogers of Milan, was decided in Rogers' favor. It will be remembered that some months ago
EpViraim Eddy gave his step-son
Andrew Rogers a deed to $3000 worth
of property on condition that he be
supported for life but he died eight
days later and then his daughter wanted tbe deed set aside on the grounds of
Incompetency.
Figures given out by tBe pension
department show that the old soldiers
who survive the rebellion are dying at
the rate of 00 a day, and for the- first
time in many years the tide is turned
and there are more names being taken
from the pension roll than are being
added to it. / These figures are startling. Ninety a day means about three
regiments w the old veterans being
fully mustered out every month. Arid"
"" with .growing age the deat3r" rate must
continue to increase rapidly.—Ex..

To Exterminate Prairie Dogs.
In Nebraska, where whole townships are covered- with prairie dog vil-
lagesz an expedition of scientists is
experimenting with methods for exterminating the pests. The most effective means used hitherto is the putting into their holes lighted balls ot
cotton saturated with carbon bisulphide, which gives off a deadly gas.—

The Ark and the Motor-Car.
One of the standing jests that tickled the humor of Plantagenet England
was the refusal of Noah's wife, in the
mystery plays of the-period, to enter
her husband's new-fangled habitation.
The motor-car does not inspire quite
the same terror as did the Ark in the
minds of the antediluvians, but there
is still about it an atmosphere of suspicion and dislike that may not be conquered yet without some patience.

Sell Hart, Shaffner & Marx Clothing.
Of all the beautiful, attractive creations that tho famous
"Clothes Makers," Hart, Schaffaer & Marx ever produced,
this fall's styles eclipse all others from an artistic standpoint.
The hand of the artist is in eyery line and curve of the garment, Their designer, like the designer of tho -'Reliance,"
is a product of American soil and industry,—was born an artist—could not help himself—and to-day stands at the head of
our nation as an artistic designer of Men's Clothing..
Merchant Tailors from all parts of the country secure the H.,
S. & M. "Style Book" in order that they may know the correct
styles to-make for their customers.
Clothing dealers throughout theU. S. who haven't the H„ S.
& M. goods, but who wish to impress you with the value of the
article they want tosell, will always say,"this is just as good
as the H., S, & M." But why buy an imitation, when you can
get the real article. It costs no more, and the - workmanship,
linings and trimmings are much better.
