A man who at times delights to be
praised by a newspaper, ought not to
find fault If he is sometimes -criticised.
It is only the thin skinned individual
who thinks everything said applies to
him. A newspaper is like a menu
card. You take what you like and
leave the rest for others. Do not expect everything is going to please you.

A noted "sister" of the Methodist
Episcopal church once had a large tea
party, at which were present most of
the prominent ministers of that denomination in America, including the
local pastor, who was a little hard of
hearing. When all were seated, she,
wishing to honor him, whose birthday
it happened to be, said in her blankest
whisper: "Brother, will you ask
a blessing?" And the pastor replied
in aloud voice to the'great injury of
the company: "I-take milk, ma'am,

The board of county .auditors are
seeking a.solution, of the trgmn problem. They \vill endeaypr to have the
sheriff's allowance of 44 cents a day for
boarding prisoners cut down to where
It belongs. This would make it not
worth the while to arrest tramps and
put them in jail for the sake of the
fees as is now the case. It has alw,ays
been a problem just why the sheriff
should be paid high class boarding
house prices for the extrenfely thin
fare that is doled "out to prisoners at
the jail.—Ex.
