W. B. Rane of Whitmore Lake, is
setting; out a large peach and apple orchard on his farm just east of the village. There will be SOO trees of each
bind in the orchard.—Standard,
A correspondent to one of our exchanges tolls of au ingenious arrangement he saw at a cross roads corner
recently. It was five mail boxes attached to an old wagon wheel fixed on
a post set iu the ground in such a way
that the mail carrier could turn the
wheel so as to bring all the boxes
within reach without getting out of
his vehicle.—Dexter Leader.
Dr. Thomas Cooley injured his foot
this week while unloading bis new
launch at Whitmore Lake. The boat
slipped and fell catching his foot before he could step out of the way. Tt
was thought at first that the bones
were crushed hut examination proved
that this was not the case. The
injury, however, has been severe
enough to keep him indoors ever since
the accident happened.—Times.
We are informed that the long-
promised new depot for Manchester is
an assured fact this time. The plans
and specificfl tions are said to he nearly
completed. The building will be a
large one, with telegraph and ticket
office, ladies' and gent's waiting-rooms,
baggage and toilet-rooms, etc. It will
be heated by stuam and lighted by
gas. It is to be located on the south
side of the main track, with entrance
to the grounds on Jackson street.
The sidetracks will be shortened so
people will have to cross only one
track, on Jackson street. The grounds
will be graded and more attractive.—
Manchester Enterprise.
S. J.Reyuold* of Saginaw, and S. G.
Reynolds of Lawton, were in town ten
days and leased 1,200 acres of land lying adjacent to the railroad on both
sides, on which they will prospect for
coal. They are very earnest in the
matter, and seem to feel eertain that
coal in paying quantities will be found
in this vicinity. S. G. Reynolds,
better known as Gustave, lived at Oak-
yille until about 13 years ago, when he
moved lo Lawton, and of course is
knowu to almost every one here, is the
prime mover in the deal. They left
Saturday morning for Saginaw, where
they will make a map of their leasage
and perfect their plans lo put down
test holes in the near future. If they
are successful in finding coal it will
mean a boom for the town and surrounding country.—Whittaker Item
Milan Leader.
Moscow Marriage Market.
A marriage market is held annually
near Moscow, and it is said that over
one thousand marriages are arranged
there each year.
Greatness.
Great men seem to be a part "of the
infinite, brothers of the mountains
and the seas.—Ingcrsoll.

in its virtue and power that they have
given a written Guarantee Contract to

that they can have their money hack,

is a liquid preparation for varnishing or finishing new or old wood
or metal work.
It is especially adapted for hard
wood cr soft wood • floors, interior
woodwork, and can be used successfully in many other ways, such
as for refinishing front doors, furniture, carriages, oil cloth, wire
screens, iron fences, radiators, etc.
It covers all mars, scratches or
disfigurements and produces a durable, smooth, brilliant, hard and
elastic finish.
It stains and varnishes by one
application and is not affected by
hot or cold water or by soap or
water.
It is made in many different and
popular colors.
It is applied with an ordinary
paint brush and good results are
easily obtained by an inexperienced person.
It is better than other finishes
used for the same purpose became
it contains more pure linseed oil,
which is the true life of all paints
a"nd yarnishes. By our process of
oxidizing linseed oil we have sue
ceeded in producing a yarnish
which contains more oil than has
ever before been used, and at the
same time a reasonable quick-drying article of great durability.
