New Experiment.
The New York Central lines, which
include the Michigan Central and
Lake Shore, are awaiting the. developments of a gasoline-electric cars before
buying any more electric lines paralleling their lines. This form of cars is
being tried by the Delaware & Hudson
railroad and they made a trial trip
from Schenectadyto Saratoga, N. Y.,
with an average speed of 35 miles an
hour. If these experiments with gasoline pan out the way. they promise,
the cars will be used on steam* lines
and run in competition with trolley
lines and such cars would undoubtedly
be put upon the New York Central
lines.
Surprised Them.
A. bunch of youth's got funny Friday
night and thought the greatest sport
going was embracing the big eleetric
light pole in front of Hoag-'s supply
store, and receiving a little electric
thrill. The boys were Clyde Tessmer,
Walter Weiman, .Robert rieeger and
Frank Hogan. They explained the
sensation as like that of "a steel band
around the chest, pulling tighter and
lighter."—Argus.
Near Death's Door.
Newton Lewis, a Pittsfield farmer,
was terribly injured Sunday by an attack from a frenzied hull. Mr. Lewis
is a man of about sixtj years of age
and was leading#the animal out to
water when it became unmanageable
and turned upon the old man bunting
him against the harn violently, breaking his leg and three ribs, one ot
which punctured his lungs. The
animal was hornless, yet was. capable
of doing great damage which it did.
He was at once taken to the hospital
in Ann Arbor.
Missionaries Escape.
Miss Ida'Kahn, a Chinese girl who
graduated from the U. of M. medical
department, and who returned to her
native country as a missionary, was at
the mission station at "Nanchang,
whicb was destroyed by Chinese fanatics and several missionaries killed.
She escaped with fourteen other
American missionaries.

The Remarkable Curative Properties
of Pepsikola Tablets.
So many cases have come right under
the Corner Drug Store's own personal
observation that they now know beyond all question what" Pepsikola tablets will do, and they caa give you the
names of scores qf people whose experience with it has been remarkable. In
fact, there is hardly a person in Saline
to-day but knows of some one who has
been decidedly benefitted. ' Thin folks
find that it increases their weight.
Others claim that it cures "heartburn,
palpitation, sour stomach, wind belching, bad taste in the mouth, coated
tongue, fulness and distress after eating, while -to those who are listless,
tired and worn out and without ambition it gives new vigor and renewed
vitality right away. And the guaran^
tee is so plain and so sure there can be
no misunderstanding. They do not
want even one dissatisfied enstomer in
Saline and they" always sell Pepsikola
tablets with the understanding that
yon must be greatly benefitted or you
can have your 25 cents back simply by
asking for it

Too Old for Young Companions.
Seward Dill, late of Phillips, Me.,

friends remonstrated -with him at
the great risk of traveling alone so
long a distance. He replied: "I am
