.Massage Crf *
Takes Away Shaving Soreness
A thick, fast growing, beard and a tender skin cause
trouble to many men. An occasional massage with
Pompeian Cream not only takes away after shaving-
discomfort, but gradually strengthens the skin and
enables it to bear the frequent use of the razor without
ill effect. Also cleanses the pores. 5ocand$i.ooperjar.

What Next?
The following is from the Monroe
Democrat: "The latest in connection
with the Toledo, Ann Arbor and Detroit electric railway is that it will
pass into the hands of Matthew Slush,
former president of the Detroit, Monroe and Toledo Shore line. The road
is in progress of construction, but work
was stopped last fall because of the enr
tanglements of the Patrick Hirsch Co.,
who -were building it. Tbe fact that
Mr Slush last week purchased eighteen
mules from the Detroit United Kail-
way is taken as an indication that the
deal vyill undoubtedly be put through."
A Hot City.
The following is from an exchange
concerning our sister city Ypsilanti:
"And now comes the statement that
S2S dishes of ice cream are consumed
daily by Ypsilantians. All of which
goes to prove that Ypsi must be a "-hot
old town." This number includes sundaes, ice cream, etc. Sundaes are the
most popular, doubtless because the
customers think the.y are getting 5
cents worth of ice cream besides the
extra trimmings. Let a fellow get it
into his head that he's getting something for nothing and you will find
him Johnny-on-the-spot every time."-
Factory for Dexter.
The citizens of Dexter held a very
enthusiastic meeting last week for the
purpose of encouraging the location of
a factory for the manufacture of The
Thompson Window Kitchen, the invention of .T. J. Thompson of that city.
This invention is the first one of its
kind and is edpecially designed for
flats, apartment and rooming houses.
It is made of galvanized iron, is provided with ventilators which allow the
smoke and odor to escape while cooking is in progress. The Kitchen is to
be used in at open or closed window as
it fits tightly between the two outside
cleats of the window frame when in
position. The plan of the meeting was
to organize a company, which is to be
incorporated for 520,000, .and this
would give employment to from 25 to
50 men and be of great benefit lo any
community.
U. of M. Showing.
The catalogue of the University,^ to
be issued this week, will contain some
facts and figures which will be a surprise even to those who are closely
connected with the institution. The
book shows that there is a total of
4,571 students enrolled in the University or a net gain of 485 over last year,
wben 4,136 were enrolled. The gain is
largely in the engineering department
where the growth has been rapid of
late years and where the enrollment
has increased many times since the
organization of tbe department as a
separate one ten years ago.—Ex.

Annual May Festival.
The University Music Society are
making plans for the annual May Festival. The program is one te which
the School of Music may point with
prifle. The superb list of artists is
headed by Mme. Charlotte Maconda,
who makes her first appearance. The
notices given Mme. Maconda in the
eastern papers credit her with a voice
of remarkable range and richest quality, and with a personality and unde-
finable something- called magnetism
hat charms her hearers.
Manchester citizens are agitating a

Dr. W. N. Fowler of Bluffton, Ind.,
a former Tecumseh man, has signed a
two years' contrast to go with Walter
Wellman on his trip to find the north
pole, at a salary of $2,100 a year.
Mrs. Stitts, who weighs about 320
pounds, broke through the floor of a
water closet, Friday night, into the
filth below. Her 6creams brought two
men to her rescue, who after lifting
until nearly out of breath, finally got

Locality of the Wishbone.
There is an old-fashioned little girl
in the city, aged seven, whose quaint
and unexpected sayings greatly amuse
those who linow her and may cause a
smile when told to strangers. One
day when the family were enjoying
roast chicken she asked her father for
the wishbone. "Where shall I look for
it?" he said. "Why in the tail, of
course. That's what makes it wag
the feathers when it wants to, isn't
it?" she asked.—Chicago Amerjcan.
