"Pittsburgh Perfect"
Fences The Best Because
I. Stays^ate Electrically Welded to the strands forming a perfect union
and an amalgamation with the strands not found in any other fence.
' 2. All stay wires are made as heavy as intermediate line wires. A
fence, like a chain, is only as strong as tho lightest material in it. Think
tbis oyer carefully.
8.. Ho wraps to get loose, to hold moisture and cause rust.
4. No projections to injure stock or tear wool from sheep.
5. Stronger at the joints than any other fence. Welded together with
.electricity.
6. Guaranteed that the wire Is not injured at the joints.
7. Guarantee 1 adjustable to uneven ground.
8. Guaranteed that stays will not separate froni joints.
9. Guaranteed all right iu every particular.
10. Made by the most modern process and on tho latest jmproyed machinery.
II. Most of the weak points in other fences are on account of the «vay
he stays are fastened.
Our stays are amalgamatdd with the strands by means of electricity and
the strength of the fence increased a hundredfold over the strength of a
fence where the stays are wrapped or clamped on the strands.
You may pay more money for other fences but you cannot get as good a
fence as "Pittsburgh Perfect."

MONOPOLY IN HUMMING BIRDS.
Amarlca Is the Only Continent Where
They Are Found.
Though the art museums of Europe
may have some treasures of which
America cannot boast, our continent
has the distinction of a monopoly of
the world's supply of humming birds,
the ferns of all the feathered creation.
Qf these there are'^said to be some
468 species—the 400 *we may well call
them!—nearly all of which are peculiar to the tropical regions. Only 18
cross the borders of the United States
from Mexico, and occur only in our
southwestern states.
The popular Idea is that the hummer lives only on honey, gathered
from flowers. This is a mistake. The
bird does secure some honey, hut its
food consists mainly of the small insects which frequent the flowers.
Some of these insects are injurious to
the blossom, and the tiny birds fulfills
a useful function in destroying them.
That the hummer is insectivorous is
also shown by its habit of catching
tiny insects on the wing, which is occasionally observed.—From "Experi-
«mces with Humming Birds," by H. K.
Job, in The Outing Magazine.
