Two Really Good "Bulls."
In the report Of a Dublin, charity organization the following paragraph appeared: .
"Not*withstanding the large, amount
paid by the society for medical attendance and medicine, very few deaths
occurred during the year."
Which calls to mind the story of the
two countrymen who were passing an
eye hospital famous for its. skilful operations.
"Jack," exclaimed one of them, impressively, "in there they'll take your
eyes out and put them on the table
in front of you and let you look at
them."
The Bitter Truth.
Diogenes slowly entered the pawnshop and placed his lantern, on the
counter.
"What can I get for this?" he asked.
The pawnbroker picked up the lantern and examined it curiously.
"Rather antique pattern," he commented. "What do you consider*- it
worth?"
Diogenes bowed his head, the humiliation of centuries upon him.
"Nothing," he bitterly admitted.
"Nothing at all."—Bohemian.

Advocates Free Water,
Ypsilanti should not be too previous
in discontinuing the free use of water
to the normal sohool. That Institution
brings hundreds of people to the city
and the eity gets a great benefit from
them. The .state appropriation, secured by Representative Waters; at
the last session will all be expended in
the city and it appears to us lhat thei

humorously, "it has always seemed to

"This game-cock, as you well know,
found himself one day in a stable full
of horses—huge, restless steeds. They
were all kicking an'd stamping ahout.
The cock had to dodge from right to

.100.00 PRIZE
r ' .' '■■ ' '«'/',,
We will give $100.00 in gold for the correct
answer to the following questions:
Is Co-operation practical and what would be the
result in brotherhood, in commercial enterprise, in
the savingjm your purchase? For instance, suppose we had 500*stockholders, each trade $200.00
a year, making our sales $100,000.00 at a 20 per
cent profit amounting to $20,000.00 less $5,000.00
for expense, leaving a net profit of $15,000.00 to
be divided back among the stockholders. Suppose
this continued for 20Vears amounting to $300,000
placing the profit each year at interest which would
nearly double.
Please study this question and tell us what grand
results would be accomplished. This is a simple
problem "and not overdrawn.
