Case of "Snickers."
The post offlce force, and a few others, hav had a genuine case of
"sniekero" for several days past all because of a litule incident that came to
pass List]Saturday. Thi.s. Brandt wbo
is still a substitute rural mail carrier
and has been making the route for
several weeks, found his horse was a
little off his feed, and in his dilemma,
a co-worker in Uncle Sam's employ,
came to the rescue by offering a spirited young colt that was in need ol more
exercise. The proferred kindness was
gladly accepted, and as the mail wagons lined up in front of the post offlce
as usual Saturday morning, Mr.
Brandt, anxious to try his new speeder, rustled his mail into his] sack, and
was off. Having received assurances
that the colt was all right, but needed
careful watching in the case of meeting autos, threshing machines and was
liable to shy and perform divers other
little tricks, be sallied forth with not
a few misgivings. With due precautions "he braced his feet squarely
against the dash hoard, and wound the
reins many times about his wrists.
All went well. Returning at night,
he was more than- jubilant over his
success* as a driver, and was loud ia his
praise of his speeder—"it was far and
away the best traveler on the pike,
etc., etc." Then it came to Mr.
Brandt's ears that that "colt" that had
behaved so decorously was one tbat
had seen service for a score or more of
years—he had taken the wrong horse
and was, until then, blissfully unconscious of his mistake. Then somebody had the ha-ha's—but. we agreed
not to say a word about that part.—
Dundee Henorter.

Real Live Ghost-?
A real live ghost has been seen several times of late on Ypsilanti streets
trying to score whom so ever it might.
Last Sunday night, three men screwed
their courage to the ticking point, and
each reassured by the bravado of the
other two, started out in quest of the
so-called disembodied soul. - Iu the
dead watches, the phantom appeared
and the aforesaid would-be captors,
hand in hand, tip-toed out of tbeir ambush. Presto! It had legs and tried
to make for tbe tall timber! The meu
were determined to get their money's
worth out of the chase and so they too,
sped on. The disguise of the "t,host"
was lost in the scramble but rather
than be caught by mortal man, rushed
frantically on—"and still the villians
pursued him." [n trying to hurdle a
barbed wire fence Mr. Ghost became
so completely entangled with the same
that tbe most .of his few remaining
garments huug in fluttering shreds
from the wires. Tbo last heard from
the spectre, it was going some, and for
all wa know is going yet. The men
carefully collected the pieces of cloth
hanging to the fence and have since,
by careful examination, found that It
tallied in looks with clothes sometimes
worn by a mortal living not a thousand
miles from'town. We understand that
these pieces aro heing kept as souvenirs.—Reporter.
liead-On Collision.
A terrible wreck occurred on the
Ann Arbor railroad Saturday morning
near Hamburg, when,., two freights
came togethe- head ou. Tbe engineer
and fireman of the oorth-bound were
both instautly killed, and the fireman
of the south-bound died from injuries.
Itis unofficially stated that the dispatcher at OwOsso is to blame for the
wreck, that he first gave north-bound
Engine No. 45 orders- to meet southbound Extra No. IOT at Kirby, but
afterwards annulled that order, giving
No. 10T right-of-way of Hamhurg and
failed to notify No. 45 of the change."

To weak and ailing women, thera is ot least ono
way" to help. But with that way, two treatments,
must bo combined. One is local, one is constitutional, "but both are important, both essential.
Dr. Shoop's Night Cure is the Local.
Dr. Shoop's Restorative, the Constitutional.
Theformer—Dr. Shoop's Night Cure—isatopical
mucous membrane suppository remedy, while Dr.
Shoop's Kestorative is wholly an internal treatment. The Restorative reaches throughout tha
entire system, seeking the repair of all nerve,
all tissue, and all blood ailments.
Tho "Night Cure", as its name implies, does its
work whilo you sleep. It soothes sore and inflamed mucous surfaces, heals local weaknesses and
discharges, while the Restorative, eases jiervoua
excitement, gives renewed vigor and ambition,
builds up wasted tissues, bringing about renewed
strength, vigor, and energy. Take Dr. Shoop's
Restorative—Tablets or liquid—as a general tonio
to the system. Por positive local help, use as well
