"Dear Sir:

that I think will be pf intex'est tp the
readers pf The Observer as C . R.
Waite is a Saline boy, born and bred
in Saline township. It will shpw that
in spme localities the freeze did little

were frozen in this portion of Villa

on Tuesday afternoon, March 4, "with
Mrs. Guy Katner, and was one of the
best meetings of the year.
After the usual business the pro-,
gram opened with roll call, "Home
Hints." Many usefuLand interesting responses were given. The first
papeowas given by Mrs. Julius Lindenschmidt, who came over from Ann
Arbor, where she has recently moved,
to fill her place on the program. She
spoke about "Borrowers and Lenders" and gave some instances of both
that were very amusing and some not
so amusing. Miss Edna Smith gave
a splendid paper and showed conclur
sively that "Physical and Mental De-
velppment" have everything tp do
with "Morals." This was a paper
that we wished might have been heard
by even a larger audience.
Mrs. Orrin Briggs read extracts
from pne pf the Detrpit Federatipn
papers on "The Business of Housekeeping." Mrs, Briggs kindly "filled in" for Mrs. Charles Dietiker and
her reading was much enjoyed. Mrs.
Grace Cook closed the program with a
fine paper on "Conservation of Time
and Strength" and no one who listened tp this thpughtful and' earnest
paper cpuld have failed to carry away
new inspiration for the days to come.
Each one pf these papers was freely
discussed, all the members having
their talking apparatus in fine wprk-
ing prder.
The next meeting will be held next
and to-1 Tuesday afternpon at 2:30 at the home

Miss Ben-Oliel Pleased.
The large and enthusiastic -audiences that greeted Miss Ben-Oliel at
her popular and illustrated lectures Is
a striking evidence of the appreciation
of the people of Saline and the marked ability of this talented lady who
never fails to interest and instruct the
public.
The subject pf the address on Sunday evening at the Presbyterian
church was on the bipod covenant and
thedeep significance pf the many and
striking oriental symbolisms. The
address in the M. E. church on Mpn-
day evening was illustrated by 30
young people robed in oriental fashion, and vividly portraying before
the audience the manners and costumes of the Jewish people, all throwing light upon the Bible and the people who were given the oracles of God
and have sp impressed the history of
the world.
Miss Ben-Oliel's magnetic personal-"*
ity, religious fervor and Intense enthusiasm that made real to the audience the things she was dejecting,
added much tp the pleasure and profit
of the evening and as a fitting climax
left with the people a deeper appreciation of the wonderful book;
