idate For Circuit Judge.
The Democratic Count3' Committee
makes the followirig strong argument
in support of its candidate for Circuit
Judge:
Mr. Arthur Brown, Democratic can^
didate for Circuit Judge, was born in
York Township, this county, forty-
seven ago. A poor boy, by his own
exertions, he secured an education in
the common schools and Law Department of the University of Michigan.
He was County Clerk from 1891 to
1895, during which time he graduated
from the Law Department of the University and was admitted to practice
in this County. .
He has been a successful lawyer, a
successful business man and possesses in an eminent degree those qualifications of knowledge, independence
and integrity necessary "to make a successful judge,
Mr. Brown is a firm believer in the
old fashioned virtue of economy. In
almost every campaign of recent years
he has arraigned the State administration for its extravagance in State
affairs, in much the same manner
that the present Governor is now doing. Not only has he preached econ-
omyin the administration of, public
affairs, but he has practiced it. In
1903 he was nominated by his party
for Mayor of the City of Ann Arbor.
The City was heavily in debt, its offi-
!,•
cers and laborers had not been paid
for some months and default had been
made by the City in the payment of
interest upon its bonds. In that campaign it was claimed by the opponents of Mr. Brown that the only solution of the problem was to issue and
sell City bonds to the amount of $40,-
000 in order to pay the deficit.
Mr. Brown said "No; elect me to
the office of Mayor and I will pay the
City's indebtedness in two years."
He was taken at his word and, elected,
and not only made good but at the expiration of his term of office left $23,-
OOt in the City ^treasury, notwithstanding the fact that the City raised
less money in taxes during his term
of two years than it had raised the
previous two years or for any like
period Since.
Mr. Brown now says that if he is
elected that he can save to the taxpayers of this County $3000 and upwards per year in the cost of maintaining the Circuit Court.
We respectfully ask the "voters and
taxpayers for their support, confidently believing that if they will elect Mr.
Brown Circuit Judge that he can and
will again make good.
By order of the Committee.

Attacks School Principal.
A severe attack on school prine'pa',
Chas. B. Allen of Sylvania,-Ga., is
thus told by him. "For more than
three years," he writes, "I suffered indescribable torture from rheumatism,
liver and stomach trouble and diseased kidneys. All remedies failed till I
used Electric Bitters, but four bottles
of this wonderful remedy cured me
completely." §uch results are common. Thousands bless them for curing stomach trouble, female complaints, kidney disorders, biliousness,
and for new health and vigor. Try
them. Only 50c at O. C. Wheeler's

Countries Much Alike.
Victoria, ihe Australian province,

state, the Murray valley, which contains the bulk of the irrigable country, being remarkably similar to the
Sacramento valley.—San Francisco Argonaut. ■ ,
