Light Attracts Customers.
In the downtown section of a city
the theater audiences come and go
through two avenues leading to car
••"•ss. A haherdasher has a shop, in
a. side street between these two channels of travel, at a much more reasonable rent than he would have to pay
on the avenues. Study of the conditions convinced him that the theatergoers took those avenues, not because
they were especially convenient, nor
as a matter of habit, but simply because they were light When he put
.up an electric sign big enough .to light
his section of the dark side street he
diverted enough travel past his windows every night to increase materially the daily sales.—Saturday Evening Post.
Friend of Horticulturists.
Daniel William Coguillett knows
more about insects harmful to vegetable growths than any other man,
though he is only fifty-four years old.
Since 1S96 he has been honorary custodian of diptera in the United States
National Museum at Washington, but
before that he had done a large
amount of effective work in the farms
and in the orchards of Illinois and
California. Grasshoppers, catarplllara
and the microscopic pests which injure fruit trees are his especial .prey,
and it was through his efforts that
ladybirds were imported to exterminate the cottony cushion scale dreaded
hy horticulturists.
SOLVES A "dEEP MYSTERY.
"I want to thank you from the hot-
torn* of my heart," wrote C. B. Rader,
of Lewisburg, W. Va., "for the wonderful double benefit I got from Electric Bitters, in curing me of both a
severe case of stomach trouble and of
rheumatism, Eelctric Bitters have no
an almost helpless sufferer for ten
years. It suited my case as though
made just for me." For dyspepsia,
indigestion, jaundice and to rid the
system of kidney poisons that cause
rheumatism, Electric Bitters has no
equal. Try them. Every bottle is
guaranteed to satisfy. Only 50c at
O. C. Wheeler's Pharmacy.

plate, has taken a great deal of trouble to get his sitter to relax the unnaturally stern expression which mea

SAVES TWO LIVES.
"Neither my sister nor myself might
he living to-day, if it had not been
for Dr. King's N£w Discovery," writes
A. D. McDonald of Fayetteville, N. C,
R. F. D. No. S, "for we both had
frightful cough that no other remedy could help. We were told my sister had consumption. She was very
weak and had night sweats but your
wonderful »medicine completely Gured

The Sneaking Feeling.
Whenever we do a thing we
shouldn't do we feel sneaky about it,
and a sneaking feeling is the most
uncomfortable feeling in the world.—
Atchison Globe.
Adviee to Mothers: Don't let your
children waste away. Keep them
strong and healthy during the winter
with Hollister's Rocky Mountain Tea.
It is the greatest tonic for children.
Pure and harmless, does the greatest
good, 3Bc, Tea or Tablets. O. C. Wheeler's Pharmacy.
Candlesticks.
If you must use a candle in a hurry
and cannot find a candlestick, try
putting the candle Into the neck of an
empty bottle. If you can get one to
fit approximately, it will serve quite
as well. A little shaving with a penknife or melting with a match will fit
the candle into a bottle a bit too
small for It.
A Natural presumption.
When Edna's mother wished the little girl many happy returns of the
day on the morning of her fifth birthday, the child said thoughtfully:
'"I'm five years Old today and now, I
'spose I'll just keep on being^ fiver and
fiver and fiver every day, till I'm
six."
When given as soon as the croupy
cough appears Chamberlain's Cough
Remedy will ward off an attack of
croup and prevent all danger and
cause of anxiety. Thousands of
mothers use it successfully. Sold hy
