-A frightful accident claimed its
toll Wednesday morning near the A.
S. Hall farm, north of town.
Dr. Thompson, wife and. son, and
E. K. Johnson and Mrs. Genevieve
Walker, of Detroit, were driving
to the Irish hills, via.-- Saline in
a new Franklin car. Whea near
tlie Hall farm and while going
at a high rate of speed, they
turned out to pass another calr, pulled
back and swung across the road,
hitting a tree sidewise, completely
wrecking .the car and killing instan-.-
.ly the young man ini the party.
Mi*. Johnson died in a short time,
and the woman guest on reaching tha
hospital. Dr. Thompson suiieied- a
crushed hip and Mis. Thompsai* wrs
badly cut and bruised.
Dr. Wallace was summoned and
did what he could for the stricken
