Faith in Saline
No business is so dependent upon public coinfidence as a bamk. The vejry nature
of its business as guardian of its customers finances implies implicit faith on the
part of those customers.
It is, therefore, imperative that those
persons who direct the business of a bank
measure; up to this responsibility.
Our consistent growth is evidence of
the confidence imposed in us by the citi-
cens of Salide. And this confidence, brings
home to us a genuine appireciation of our
responsibility and duty.
The Saline Savings Bank pleidges its
services to Saline. We have faith in its
future and we shall endeavoir to grow as
our village grows.

I. And according to fllan philosophers j the mainspring of Langdon's irresisti^ , ble comedy lies in his apparent sad- ' ness. ! Langdon uses repression and sup- 1 pressioii to get many of his effects. 'but with these effective agencies, which are old, Harry adds that Lang- donesq-ue touieh which has brought , to him. in quick march such a tremen- ' dous following. He has added a whimsical twist of the mouth. That is all it is. It is;.not even a ' half-smile. Nor does It suggest one. Rather, it suggests helpnessness. Its appeal is irresitible. With this whim- sical twist of his lips Harrv combines , that pathetic appeal of his -big, round, child-like orbits and, the audience ' at once is swept into gales of laughter. He is melancholy. *He is sad. He is injured. He is hurt. He icomnlete- ly drams your heart of all its Svm-pa- .thy. But only for a fleetins: instant. Then there comes that remarkable change of expression—that whimsical little twist of the month and the slight, very slight, glimmer in his e3*es.
