hours to assemble the outstanding
collection of side-splitting jokes of
the century.
Miss Joanne Richard is putting
groups of little pickaninnies (and a
few larger pickaninnies) through
original dance routines to augment
the program.
The committee in charge of the
program includes Earl Ruby, Harley
Holt, Austin Bates, Theo Wallington,
Earl Beatty and Howard Everts; and
John Rodabaugh, David Seiter, Dexter
Elden, Bud Anderson, Murl Houghton
and Roy Cimmerer are the ticket
committee.

Mrs. Florine A. Lawrence, of Marys-
ville, Wash., was born September 14.
1873, in New York state, and passed
away April 4, 1949, after a lingering
illness. Mrs. Lawrence came to
Michigan whenfive years old with her
parents, Mr. and Mra. Charles H. San-
bom. She grew up in Genessee County where her two daughters were
born and later came to Clare County,
where she lived a number of years.
In passing she leaves to mourn, her
faithful companion Lucas; two daughters, Mrs. Belle Evans, of Amsterdam,
N. Y., and Mrs. Jennie Bingham, of
Farwell, Mich., five sisters, Mrs. Ellen
Tryon, and Miss Lela V. Sanborn,
both of Marysville, Wash., Mrs. Velva
Armstrong^ of Stanton, Mich., Mrs.
Eve Austin, of Farwell and Mrs. Nettie Powell, of Caro-; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. In
addition to other relatives she ieaves

Funeral services were held April 7
at Schaefer's Funeral Home in Marysville, with Elder E. N. Sargeant of the
•Seventh Day Adventist church officiating* and burial was in Marysville

projects Qn display at the Harrison
High School auditorium. Parents,
friends and the general public are invited to- come and see what the
4-H'ers. have accomplished.
Fifteen clothing clubs, 11 handicraft, one electrical and two food preparation clubs will display their exhibits.
' Exhibits will.be put in'place Wednesday evening for judging; Thursday
morning will be meetings for the
leaders and a movie for the *club
members. In the afternoon' there will
be a program including a style review by the girls in^clothirig projects,
demonstration and announcement of
honor members by the .state club

and worked in stave mills in. this vicinity. He has been in the bicycle business in Clare and. Mt. Pleasant the
past forty-three years.
He was united in marriage to Rose
Mae Wheeler, November 25, 1900,
and to this union were born two sons,
John and Harold. .
In 1923 he was married to Eunice
Olds and to this union, was born one
son, Enoch.
He is survived by the wife, Eunice,
three sons, John, Harold and Enoch;
five grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Funeral Services were held from
the Rush Funeral Home at Mt. Pleasant at 2:00 , o'clock Thursday afternoon of last week, with Rev. Todd of
Crawford officiating, and.interment in
Cherry Grove cemetery.

The "Doctor's of Medicine in Clare
County will conduct a Cancer, Detection Campaign beginning at once. The
Doctor's are Dr. K. Hammerberg, Dr.
G, Lamb, Dr. S. .G, McArthur, Dr. Bert
Sanford and Dr. E. C. Wilson. Each
of the above aiamed doctors of medicine will use his own office as a, cancer detection (clinic and examinations
will be made only during their regular hours or by appointment.
In as much as April is National Cancer Month, this is an appropriate time
