September 9 Is Chosen
As Saline's Dollar Day
Bargains and Homecoming
Day Are Combined
This Year.
Large Orders of New Goods Will
Be Sold at Prices 33iat Are
Lower Than Ever.
Last week we promised to givethe
exact date for Saline's biggest bargain day of the year—Dollar Day.
It's coming on September 9 and is
going to be the biggest yet. The
merchants have been preparing for
it for weeks. They have bought
large supplies that offer to the people
of this community the biggest values
that money can buy.
Sceptical persons, pessimistic persons, and persons who always doubt
the truth about everything that
comes along believe that bargain
sales are a means by which merchants dispose of a large amount of
old, shopworn goods. This certainly
is not the case this year. If you are
a good observer you know that it is
not; you have seen, during the past
two weeks, large orders of goods delivered at the doors of our merchants. Those orders were bought
especially for you to look at on Dollar day, and to sell to you at prices
that will take your breath away
when you hear them.
Added to vthese great bargain attractions, the city of Saline is going
to offer attractions, too. We can't let
you in on the secret yet, but in next
week's issue you will receive all of
the details. We plan to make this a
homecoming day as well as a bargain day, and of course we'll have to
treat our homecomers to something.
The merchants and townspeople
are anxious to have this combined
homecoming and bargain day prove
satisfactory to everybody, and they
will all be glad to see you and entertain you on Saline's biggest day this
year.
MISS MILLS' PICNIC
About seventy of Miss Mills' Music
club and their mothers, brothers and
sisters enjoyed a picnic last Thursday at the Alwin Burkhart cottage
at Sand lake, a generous potluck
dinner was served at noon and the
afternoon was «pent in boating,
swimming and taking pictures of the
group.. Miss Florence Weidmayer
added a great deal of enjoyment to
the picnic by giving many selections
on the accordion.
