Washtenaw Council ot Religious Education Win Hold »Three
Sessions.
The Washtenaw Council Of Religious Education announces a change
j in the plans for the county eonven-
ition. According to the latest info*r-
r mation, the meeting is to be held at
; the Saline M. E. church on Wedneo-
' day, November 18. There will be
■ three sessions:—morning, afternoon
and evening.
Among the workers and speakers
who are to be present are Rev. E. W.
fialpenny, superintendent of the
State Council, and Miss lone Catton,-
superintendent of the State Children's division.
The executive committee voted tp
eliminate the usual registration fee.
Instead, an offering basket will be
passed. Meals -for those in attend

urday night, was a gay affair.
The children gathered at
school auditorium and saw the
movie of Jackie Coogan in "Peck'a
Bad Boy." After two or three reels
of this picture, the parade was
formed • and the children marched
around the streets and back to the
auditorium.

the prize for "girls under eight years
of age, and Junior Graenwald the
prize rfor boys of .the same age. For
group 8 to 12, Luella Alber, Grover
Burgan and Max Collins were winners, and for those over 12, Laura
Belle Schroeder and Rachard Ward
were winners. The prizes were one
dollar bills.
About 110 children lined up to be
judged and it was a difficult."matter
to choose from the witches, ghosts,
pirates and many other clever costumes. Many children who were
masked and enjoyed the party did
not enter the contest for awards, so
it is hard to estimate the number
present. After seeing the remaining
reels of "Pecfc's Bad Boy" the child-
den were given peanuts and sweet
cider. Without doubt the younger
generation had the time of their
lives, and it is a safe bet than none
of them had anything to do wi'u.

; against 0 for Saline.
4^ 1 The first score came shortly after
the opening whistle, when a poor
punt by Bracey gave Manchester the
ball on Saline's 30 yard stripe. A
series of mixed plays had the locals
flabbergasted and the red steam
marched steadily down the field for
•a touchdown.
" Immediately after the score, the
Saline aggregation began to gain
confidence and played the opponents
on even terms until the end of the
half.
At the beginning of the third
quarter the local's line went to "work \
at full steam and threw' the oppon- I
ents for losses time after time. •
Where the enemy found holes for '
consistent gains in the early periods,
they hit only to lose ground. The
Saline linesmen broke through to
the backfiteld and spoiled play after
play. They took the ball almost as
soon as it was lost by them, but in
spite of every effort* could not gaii*
consistently.
With the beginning of the third
quarter the locals began a series of
