The annual meeting of the stock"-
holders of the Saline - Mercantile
Company was held - Thursday afternoon at the Saline opera house.
Approximately 100 were present t*.

was replaced by George Heininger.

At Valentine Day Dinner
Miss Maree Burkhart to Wed Everara
Beasley of Battle Creek;
Date Not Set.
Mrs. and Mrs. Fred Burkhart entertained at a delightful dinner on
Valentine's day, in honor of their
daughter. Miss Maree. The occasion
marked the announcement of her engagement to Everard Beasley of Battle Creek. The colors at the table
were in gold and pink. A centerpiece
of pink rose buds in a bronze vase,
with pink taper candles at either end.
These were surrounded by golden
cupids and tiny hearts suspended
fro 01 gold ribbons'. The message was
conveyed to the guests on pink and
gold valentine hearts. Miss Burk-
hart's valentine was a cupid with the
ring tied to the bow in his hand.
Those entertained, were "girl 'friends
of Miss Burkhart. No- date for the
wedding has been arranged,' as 'Miss
Burkhart has returned to Ann Arbor
to resume her stadiea at St. Joseph'*
