RE-ELECT
■ . JACOB B. ANDRES
Sheriff of Washtenaw County
He Submits the Following Record:
Inaugurates Report System
.Sheriff Andres inaugurated a modern report system that has materially aiJsd cincers, law enforcement
agencies and institutions in their
iwork. These reports provide af'de-
tailed record, of his department's
activities and are open for public
inspection.
Department Activities
The budget cf the sheriff's office
for the year Oct. 1, 1(531, to Oct. 1,
1932 was $28;000-O0. Sheriff Andres
operated the department for" $25,-
323.75,, a SAVING of $3,267.25!
Even with increased, work, 'Sheriff
Andres has -been able "to give the
county 'a businesslike administra-
' tion seldom equalled.
, ' Sheriff Solves Crimes
Sheriff Andres and his department have been responsible for the
solution of many crimes which
have shocked the state. Apprehension of the slayer of Mrs. Hudson
of Dearborn, bringing to justice the
guilty* "ones in the Cyb murder case, and the manner in which the
"torch" murder case washandled are matters of local and state history
SAVES MONEY FOR 'COUNTY AND INDIVIDUALS
By eliminating the notarial fee ofr 25c, Sheriff'Andres saved automobile
drivers $3,390-25 on the 15,409 driver's licenses issued by his department since May 31, 1931. As a member of the Michigan,Sheriff's Association, he aided in obtaining legislation giving officers "a mileage expense, of -10 cents per mile—which'means a saving to .Washtenaw taxpayers of from $1,200 to $2,000 yearly. .
