point lead with 30 seconds left.
Smith's Marty Couture stole the
ball twice for two lay-ups to give
the Wyandotte boys the win.
Saline's Dave Bredernitz missed
winning the game when his long
torn rimmed the hoop, spun around
and bounced out while the final
buzzer was sounding.

Lefs Try God
(A New Year's Thought)
We're really in an awful mess
Of crime and fraud and godlessness,
Of drinking, gambling, speculation,
Bribery and tax evasion.
War hysteria and fear
Of losing freedoms we hold dear,
Of broken homes, delinquency,
And Jack of moral decency.
It's not an all black picture book,
For millions try the "upward look",
And ever try God's will to do.,
And trust in Him to see them through.
They work for world fraternity,
For peace at home and o'er the sea.
They try a decent life to live-;v
They work and pray; they help and give.
There is a way to right this mess;
'Twill take a miracle, no less,
But God is equal to the task.
He's only waiting to be asked,
To hear a contrite people say,
"You're; We're wrong, show us the way
To lead a better, saner life
Apart from godlessness and strife."
So dark has been the way we trod,
Since man has failed, could we try God?
The old year- dies; a new year dawns.
God only knows what lies before,
So gently place your hand in His,
And face Him with the open door.
