The idea of the diner came about

coach, and if they won a championship he -would give them- a dinner. Kesult a T-Bone steak with
all the trinimings.
This is the first football championship Saline has taken in 26 years
of competition. They came close
in 1954 losing (by one point. \
Mr. Norm Heger assisted Art in
preparing the meal. The menu was
tomato juice, relish tray, a special
salad that Mr. Michalke prepared
a treat on each plate, a T-Bone
steak, french fries, cherry pie ala
a mode and all the milk they could
drink.
When asked for comments on
the coaches Si Woods, senior halfback said "He's the best coaches
.w'veeverhal!" Jim Rhodes, "Never met two nicer guys" the rest of
tiie team agreed whole-heartedly.
When the coach. Bailey was
asked his opinoin of the team- he
said "Best team I ever coached"
and added with a chuckle," fi_-t
