In the face of weather pre
dictions of more snow, Salinians this week wondered
where they'd put it if they
got it.
Though DPW crews have
worked around the clock, city streets are only partially
cleared. Hundreds of truck-
loads of snow have been
dumped at the sewage treatment plant site but. said City
Administrator Mike Strait,
"we're running out of dumping space". Cars stalled on
every street slowed the excavations.

FIRE HALL BUILOIHO TO START SOON
The new fire hall, to be constructed as early as weather permits, will look
like the architect's sketch above, shown facing on E. Michigan Ave. Drive-through
bays will give trucks an exit on N. Harris St. The garage will berth four to six
trucks; plans also call for a meeting room large enough to be partially converted
to dormitory space when the area needs a full-time, sleep-in fire department.
Showers, kitchen, office, and storage space are provided. City voters approved
a $80,000 bond issue for the .building, in the November election.
