A motion was made, seconded aoo carried tbat the Minutes of the April 26,
1964 meeting be approved IlB presented.
A motion was made, seconded and carried to proceed uncleI' the general
plans as outlined for the Health Service - Davis Clinic affiliation, aOO to
revise the contract in accordance with what develops.
A motion WIlB made, seconded and carried that we name the National Bank
of Detroit as a third out-of-town depository and also work with tbe two
local banks relative to plans for future operations.
A motion WIlB made, seconded and carried that the proposed Bylaws, wltb
the necessary corrections, be adopted with the idea that we continue to
write these from time to time untU the set is complete.
It was tbe concensus of opinion that no aclion was necessary relative to
Dr. Westie's letter whicb was sent to the Board Members directly since
the acllon of the faculty On the Senate Constitution approved by a 78 to 26
vote tbe action of tbe Board of Trustees .
As bas been stated previously, it was the concensus of opinion tbat when
an item is submitted by a faculty member for the consideration of the
Board that it be sent through reguIar channels as autborlzed and if It Is
of such a nature as to have the faculty member appear, the Board would
request bim to do so.
A motion was made, seconded and carried that in reply to Dr. Oscar
Oppenheimer's letter of May 13 requesting representation on the Board,
tbat he be referrod to Article vm, Section 6, of tbe State Constitution
relative to the appointment to the Board of Control.
It was the coocensus of opinion that in view of the minor change that was
made in the Senate Constitution 88 presented, am also in view of the fact
that tbe faculty approved the oonstitution with a 78 to 26 vote, further
discussion of the matter soomed unnecessary. The Secretary was instructed
to refer Dr. Oppenheimer to the former action of the Board of Trustees at
the April 27 meeting.

A motion was made, seconded am carried approving tbe EducaUoo and
Activities Budget as submitted with the understanding that the peI"8onal
service detail will be submitted at the June meeting of tbe Board.
A moUon was made, seconded and carried that the President live on campus
in the bouse provided, at no charge, effective as of June I, 1964.
A motion was made, seconded aOO carried that the formal rccommeooations
as presented by President Foust be approved.

Recommend acceptance of the sum of $6,050 from the National Science
Foundation [or the support of an "Undergraduate Instructional Scientific
Equipment Program ."
Recommend acceptance of the sum of $4,140 from the Department of Health,
Education, and Welfare, Nalional Institutes of Health, for use on the Cancer
Researcb Grant.

Recommend acceptance of $20.00 from the Chrysler Corporation, a
matching grant of the gift of $20.00 from Mr. Ernest S. Knirk for the
Development Fund.
Recommend acceptance of gift of $1000 to the Alumni Fund in memory
of Miss Anna l\of. Barnard, a former faculty member.
Recommend acceptance of the sum of $100 from the National Merit
Scholarship Corporation.
Recommend approval of the statement of appreciation for the years of
service given by Mrs. Jesseroin Page Hansen, as submitted.
Recommend approval of acceptance of the sum of $1,217.00, gift of the
Bush Family atxl friends and the establishment of the Marie Donner and
Fred R. Bush Scholarship Fund under the terms outl ined in the catalog
write-up which follows:
"THE MARIE DONNER AND FRED R. BUSH SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Marie Donner am Fred R. Bush Scholarship Fum was estab­lished
by Fred R. Bush, his family and friends. Professor Bush,
former Director of the University Theater, was a groouale of
Central Michigan University and a member of the faculty for 33
years. Mrs. Bush was a faculty member in the Music Department.
The earnings of the fund are to provide an annual scholarship for
a student studying in tbe Fine Arts."
Mr. Fred Bush, Associate Professor, Department of Speech and Drama,
died on May 3,1964 . His name, therefore, is removed rrom the payroll
as of this date.
Recommend acceptance of the gifl of the book, The Torch Is Passed, to
the Central Michigan University Library [rom Mr . Glen A. BOissonneault,
Editor of the Saginaw News.
On motion, the meeting adjourned.
