(1) The one thousand dollars ($1,000) medical cover age uooer Group IV

(Employee Travel and Accident Insu rance) increased from $1. 000
to $5.000 for class I (President and Vice-Presidents) only - cost
$136 per year.
(2) Include the Board of Trustees UDder class II (All other employees)
with medical cover age of $5, 000 rather than $1.000 whlcb 1s proVided
all other employees. The cost - $214 per year. coverage$
25,000 "24-hour all accldent". AD&D and $5,000 accident medical
expenses whUe on official University business.
(3) Provide $25.000 AD&D life coverage for students while driving
owned or non-owned private passenger type automobiles on
officially approved University trips - cost $100 per year.
Re~ommen d acceptance of check in the amount of $25. 00 from the Comfort
Specialty Company of St. Louis, Missouri, to our Biology Department.
Recommend acceptance of gift of journals from The Dow Chemical Company
to our Chemistry Department. Es timated value - approximately $2000.
Recommend acceptance of gift of supplies and equipment from The Dow
Chemical Company to our Chemistry Department.
Recommend acceptance of gift of $20. 00 from the Chrysler Corporation
Fund.

these students to be more keenly aware of the problems and opportunities
of the community, am of the Impact they as students and university-year
residents command in the Mt . Pleasant community, and to encourage
community participation as well as oommunity awareness. "

President Foust read Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 104 -- Tribute to
the Community of SlandIsb, Michigan and the Standish Development Corporation,
in which the Central Michigan University Economic Expansion Center
was named.
President Foust annoonced that at the Saturday, October 16, 1965, meetIng
of the Alumni Development Fund Board, an amendment to the constitution
was passed makIng all three Vice Presidents aOO the Chairman of the Board
of Trustees members of the Alumni Development Fund Board.
President Foust stated that the distribution of the Board of Trustees Minutes
In the past has included the Registrar. Now that the lis t of Graduates is not
included in the prtnted minutes, it was the concensus of opinion that it was
not necessary to send the mirrutes to the Registrar .
It was moved, seconded and carried, that the minutes, with the follOWing
correctlons be approved: Page 9, "Education" should be added to the
Michigan Higher Assistance Authority, thus making it read Michigan Higber
Education Assistance Authority . On page 19, change "Dr." to Mr. Ira DeLong.
It was moved, seconded and carried, that at periodic intervals the Academic
Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees meet with an elected committee
of the University Senate to discuss matters of mutual concern; that the University
Senate Committee should include at least one member of the University
administration, and should not exceed four (4). It is understood that this procedue
In no way supersedes the channel of communication as adopted at the
Board Meettng of February 24, 1964.
It was moved, seconded and. carried, that the request for a formal hearing
by Charles M. West1e, Paul L. Evett and Thomas E. Smith, be denied.
It was moved, seconded and carr1ed, that Dr. Bovee be instructed to reply
to the Michigan State Employees' Union request of August 25, 1965, to be
recognized as the exclusive representative for "non-teaching employees" in
accordance with Aot 379 ofP.A . 1965, to the effect that no action be taken
on this request until the validity of the act is determined.

It was moved, seconded and carried, that we adopt the salary schedule for
off-camPls teaching as presented. (Copy on file in Secretary's Office.)
It was moved, seconded and carried, that the distribution of the BJ.dget
Request be made to the members of the Financial Policies Committee of
the University Senate.
It was the concensus of opinion that we hold the Beaver Island facility for the
use of Central Michigan University rather than renting it to other institutions.
It was the concensus of opinion that the 80 acre farm be rented again for the
next year, 1966.
It was movoo, seconded and carried, that Daverman Associates, Inc. of
Grand Rapids be approved as the firm for the site development study.
The next regular meeting of the Board will be held on December 9, 1965,
in the University Center. (This is changed from December 15.)

It was moved, seconded and earned, that the formal recommendations as
presented by President Foust be approved and that the statement relative
to the supplement appropriation be taken into consideration in our next budget
or we may modify our anticipated enrollment for next year.
