Present: Roger M. BusHeld, Jr.; Lioyd M. Cofer, Chairman;
Mrs. Katharine C. Halstad; E. Allan Morrow; James M. Umphrey;
Walter W. Wightman.
Also: N. C. Bovee, Treasurer: Mrs. Jeanne F. Collins, Secretary;
John H. De Carlo, Vice President of Public Services; Byron Gallagher,
Legal Counsel ; Wilbur E. Moore, Vice President of Academic Affairs.
Absent: Mrs. Jean E. Backus; Lawrence D. Rahilly.
Chairman Cofer catted the meeting to order at 1:30 P . M.
It was moved and seconded that the University fees for a full instr uctional
load (11 hours or more) be raised $45 per semester for resident
students and $90 per semester for non-resident students making the
total fees for a full instructional load $195 per semester for resident
students and $390 per semester for non"l'esident students and that the
rate for less than a full load be promulgated on the same ratio as
presently exists. Carried.
It was moved and seconded that the Education and Activities Operating
Budget as detailed for the fiscal year 1967-68 be established at
$12,600,223. Carried.
It was moved and seconded that room and board rates for the 1967-68
school year be increased $30 per year (two semesters) and apartment
rates be increased $5 per month. Carried.
It was moved and seconded that the University Administration be
authorized to enler into a new Union Contract with Council 7 of the
American Federation of State, County and MW1icipal Employees
(AFL-CIO) Central Michigan University Local 1568, based on the
current Union Contract with changes and amendments as recommended
by the University Administration at the July 24, 1967 meeting of the
Board of Trustees. Carried.

It was moved and seconded that the Board of Trustees extend a
vote of appreciation to the members of the team negotiating for
a new Union Contract with the members of the Labor Union.
Carried.
It was moved, seconded and carried that all employees in the M-F
classtfication beyond M-3 and F-3 benefit from the improved Union
Contract. This recognizes the personnel who cannot be a part of
the Union negotiating groups.
The date of the next Board of Trustees meeting is August 29, 1967.
