It was moved by lawrence Rah illy, seconded by James Umphrey and carried
thot the Board of Trustees approve the General Fund Operating Budget for
the 1969-70 fiscal yeor . (Copy on file in the Secretary's Office).
MISCELLANEOUS:
The Boord members expressed regret ot the resigootion of John DeCarlo,
Secretary of the Boord, and extended their thanks ond appreciation for the
service he has rendered to the University . Their best wishes go with him as
he assumes his new role as Assista nt Chancellor for the Professional Performing
Arts at Oakland University.
MALL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM:
President William Boyd stated that the elm trees on the moll a re being replaced
with disease resistant elms. James Umphrey suggested the possibility
of planting white pines, not necessarily in the mall, but for beautifi ca tion
of the over-al l campus. The University will under take a review of the entire
campus landscaping program to determine what would be most appropriate for
the ma ll, as well as other areas.
